Hi! I'm Bec Legato,

Bec Legato is journalist who graduated with a double minor in art history and international communications. Bec works for CNN as a News Associate and worked for them previously as an editorial intern in the summer of 2023. They also were the Station Manager of WICB, an FM-regulated radio station their senior year of school.

As a news associate, Bec has worked with multiple show teams, "Inside Politics" and "State of the Union" especially, creating visual elements and doing research for the larger guests, preparing for interviews and assisting producers in writing questions. Bec also has worked with the special coverage teams working on their video team and monitoring coverage as the night continues. 

 

Bec has been described as inquisitive, curious, and adores finding different facts and digging for details. Driven and eager 

to learn, Bec welcomes opportunities where they can work alongside seasoned professionals and tap into her passion for communicating with a broad spectrum of audiences, clearly and concisely.

 

Bec graduated from Ithaca College in May 2024 with a 3.8 GPA and was involved with WICB, having worked as their Production Assistant for News, their News Director, their Webmaster, and now Station Manager. They have also augmented their skills with the Society of Professional Journalists, where they were the treasurer, and was the Vice President of the Association of LGBTQ+ journalists, or NLGJA.

 

Bec earned their high school diploma at Montgomery High School in 2020, graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 and taking multiple advanced courses to better her education. She also involved herself in multiple clubs and organizations including the literary magazine and the swim team.
